Guide To Artistic Concrete Services Concrete Staining      The art of chemically altering the color of concrete.    Stains penetrate the concrete surface to provide deep, permanent coloration. Custom and Standard Acid Stains ACID STAINING is currently the most widely used form of concrete coloration. Standard acid stain colors are available in a variety of browns, blues, greens, reds and black hues. Custom acid stain colors are available to create purples, oranges, yellows and a variety of other colors.   POLYMER STAINS are a wonderful alternative to acid stains, when more exacting coloration is required. Polymer stains can be specially color matched, but are readily available in more than 30 standard colors. Since these stains can provide more opacity than acid stains they are great for masking blemishes or matching coloration between old and new concrete surfaces. Polymer Stains   Additional coloration can be acheived through the use of integral colored concrete (color added in the mix), broadcast color hardener, and tinted sealers. Use multiple pattern techniques to create individualized living areas Intricate Scored Medallion   SCORING (or saw cuts) are superficial cuts made into the concrete to create the desired pattern. Straight lines or curves can be cut with our specially designed decorative concrete saw. Patterns are unlimited and any idea can become reality. By far the most popular design is the 2' to 3' diamond pattern. ENGRAVING is an exceptional alternative to the classic "stamping".  Engraving actually etches the pattern INTO the concrete instead on top of the concrete. Numerous patterns are available, and special requests are no problem - simply give us your pattern idea and we can create it especially for you.  Some of the more popular patterns are Flagstone, Cobblestone, River Rock, Ashlar Slate, Compass Roses and Bricks. Custom logos or monograms can also be created. Engraved Flagstone Pooldeck Contemporary Taped Pattern Patio TAPING can be used to create patterns in skimcoat overlays.  The desired pattern is taped and then layers of concrete are troweled on. When the tape is removed the pattern is revealed. Taped patterns can easily be continued right up to existing walls and the pattern depth is shallower than scoring. This is a great method for creating bricks. Resurfacing & Overlays Process of covering existing concrete with cement based products from 1/8" up to 3+". This service masks imperfect concrete, creates level surfaces, or extends existing slabs to allow for successful application of artistic concrete services.  1/4" Polymer Overlay - Commercial POLYMER OVERLAY is a hand mixed, self leveling portland cement based overlay which can be applied from 1/8" to 3/4" thick.  This overlay is best used to raise flooring to the same level as surrounding floors, fill and cover divots in concrete, or cover remaining glues or thinset from previous flooring.  Can be used to level existing slabs with noticable variations, or where depth of overlay is limited (ICF homes). Scores and stains beautifully. SKIMCOATS can be applied over structually sound concrete to create decorative effects, mask surface imprefections, or create a consistent finish over varied textured concrete surfaces.  Coloration can be mixed directly into the skimcoat "batter" and multi color layers can be trowelled on to create slate or other effects. Skimcoats add less than 1/8" depth to the existing concrete surface.
